  • Support clinical trials focused on motor neuron disease
  • Full-time CDD until May 2023
  • Base salary $91,944 to $98,796 + Super 17%

About the Opportunity

Like a Clinical Research Nurse You will work under the guidance of Professor Matthew Kiernan and his team who are at the forefront of innovative research in motor neurone disease.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

  • supervising and supporting participants and their caregivers in the study, ensuring their safety and well-being
  • assist with participant recruitment, adverse event reporting, data management and ethics application process as needed
  • coordinate patient study visits and plan study procedures according to protocol
  • assist in the preparation of material for submission to ethics committees and site governance, as appropriate
  • assist the MND Clinic team with clinical assessments, coordinate referrals to appropriate health services resources and administrative tasks as needed.

About you

  • you are a registered nurse with an applicable nursing registration
  • have a demonstrated knowledge of confidentiality, privacy and information handling principles
  • are proficient in critically appraising vital signs, administering medications including injections, performing ECGs, venipuncture and cannulation, and assessing signs of clinical deterioration
  • possess strong attention to detail, be proficient in maintaining accurate records, and have experience with electronic data entry systems such as EMR
