Telangana Chief Secretary Holds Meeting On Group IV Employment Notifications Issue

Hyderabad, May 19 (PTI): Telangana Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar on Thursday held a preparatory meeting with senior officials on the next steps to be taken regarding the issue of Group IV employment notifications.

The meeting follows Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s recent announcement to fill 9,168 positions in the Group I cadre soon, according to an official statement.

The Chief Secretary said that the government passed the presidential decree of 2018 with the aim of not only protecting the rights of the citizens of the state but also reforming the functioning of the government.

In accordance with the ordinance, 95% of positions are reserved for locals. Recently, the state initiated the job notification process by issuing a notification to fill 503 positions in Group I.

While the police recruitment process is also underway, clearance has been given to the Department of Education, he said, adding that a notification for the TFW has also been issued.

The Chief Secretary has instructed the officials to submit all relevant information, including list point details, to the Telangana State Civil Service Commission by May 29.

He ordered that all junior assistant and equivalent positions in the sanctioned roster be included and notified for direct recruitment, while promotional vacancies in senior assistant and superintendent cadre should also be filled.
