North Hunterdon Thrift Shop is Hosting a $1 Clearance Sale and Book Red Basket Sale in July | Hunterdon Review News

CLINTONThrift Store North Hunterdon invites area residents to save at the boutique this month and find great deals at its $1 clothing clearance sale and other July sales.

All of the green, orange and red clothes are only $1 each in the clearance sale at the non-profit store, located at 51 County Road 635 (Charlestown Road) in Union Township. Also, in July, shoes and jewelry are 50% off.

“If you like to read, you’ll love our Red Basket of Books for $2 event,” said lead volunteer Jane Treece. “Throughout the month, shoppers can buy a basket full of books for just $2. You will find a wide variety of books for children and adults in excellent condition.

“A big thank you to those who donated to our Spring Shoe Drive mission, which ran from May 2 to July 2. Approximately 300 pairs of shoes were collected through the drive and were donated to the partner of the shop mission, Soles4Souls (S4S), a non-profit organized in this area by Cokesbury United Methodist Church,” Treece said.

S4S, an international micro-enterprise program, distributes the shoes to needy families around the world, who can repair them and sell them to help pay for food, housing and education. Although the collection has ended, the store will continue to collect shoes of all types, conditions and sizes to donate to S4S.

In addition to shoes, the store accepts donations of clean, good-quality clothing and household items. This month, the store is especially looking for donations of jeans, children’s clothing, and school and college supplies, including gear and household items for dorms and apartments. Donations can be dropped off in the outdoor Donation Shed any day, whether the store is open or closed.

The store, a ministry of the Clinton United Methodist Church, is open 8:30 a.m. to noon Monday, 8:30 a.m. to noon and 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, and 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

“Anyone who wants to be part of an amazing mission and team, meet new people, and get a deep discount is encouraged to volunteer at a thrift store,” Treece said.
