Mangaluru-Bengaluru rail services hit by landslide; SR organizes buses to Bantwal

After clearing the debris, the affected track was certified for the operation of trains, at a reduced speed of 20 km/h, at 2:25 p.m.

Train No. 07377 Vijayapura-Mangaluru Junction Daily Special, which was due to arrive at Mangaluru Junction at 12:40 p.m., was discontinued at Bantwal. Train No. 07378 Mangaluru Junction-Vijayapura Daily Special will start its journey from Bantwala (scheduled departure at 3:40 p.m.), instead of Mangaluru Junction on June 30. Southern Railway had organized buses from Mangaluru Junction to carry passengers who booked tickets on the Mangaluru-Vijayapura Daily Express Junction on June 30.

According to railway officials, the landslide occurred on the Hassan line. Services between Mangaluru and Hassan/Bengaluru have been affected.

Train No. 06488 Subrahmanya Road-Mangaluru Central express special without reserve and train No. 06489 Mangaluru Central-Subrahmanya Road special express without reserve have been canceled for the day.

Train No. 06484 Kabaka Puttur-Mangaluru Central express special unreserved which left Puttur at 07:55 was interrupted at Bantwal. Return services to Kukke Subrahmanya by the same rake have been cancelled.

Express Train No. 16516 Karwar-Yeshwantpur which arrived at Mangaluru Junction at around 11 a.m. was waiting for permission to proceed to Bengaluru. If the way is not clear for rail operations today, the Karwar-Yeshwantpur train will likely be routed to Jokatte and then to Hassan via the Padil Bypass.
