Main tasks and responsibilities:

The role will support the delivery of a multi-disciplinary electrification delivery program between Dewsbury and Leeds. the role requires experience in delivery, onboarding with contractors and designers, as well as managing external stakeholders with sponsors and operators.

Individuals will ensure compliance with NR delivery standards such as DWWP

Support the Network Rail project management team during the delivery of this complex program in a safe and environmentally friendly manner. Deliver on time, cost and quality, in accordance with the Governance of Rail Investment Projects (GRIP) and PACE, including all applicable Network Rail company standards, applicable legislation and procedures, including HMRI guidelines, where applicable. The team will be embedded within the Alliance and will provide both a Network Rail (owner-OP participant) and onboarding function.

  • Deliver individual projects or parts of projects in a safe and environmentally sound manner on time, cost and quality, in accordance with railway investment project governance, applicable legislation and procedures, including HMRI guidelines, where applicable.
  • Provide a professional, consistent and efficient project management service, including the use of key performance indicators and project reporting systems in accordance with company/client standards and guidelines.
  • Act and fulfill all construction design management obligations for projects as directed.
  • Manage the establishment of the initial project baseline to provide effective measurement and control. The baseline will include; project documentation; key deliverables; delivery strategy; resource requirements; achievements/measures; risks; dates and cost information.
  • Manage the selection and/or development of appropriate procurement strategies and framework contracts for each project; and confirm successful engagement.
  • Provide detailed information for the compilation of the business plan and the production of the plan of possessions.
  • Control project changes, risks and contingencies in the project lifecycle, reviewing and verifying that appropriate approvals are sought prior to implementation.
  • Manage the development and delivery of change projects in accordance with company/customer processes and procedures.
  • Provide a safe working environment in the execution of work directly under the responsibility of the job holder, including the development of project safety plans and other associated documents.
  • Promote and monitor the use of efficiency improvement methods.


  • Network Rail experience required
  • Program and project management qualifications and accreditations preferred
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Currently, the team visits the office at least 3 days a week for crucial interface meetings within the Alliance team. The expectation going forward will revert to 5 days a week depending on the construction delivery phase of the schedule with some working weekends to support essential goods.
