Latest traffic arrangement for section of Pak Tam Road, Sai Kung with landslide incident – HONG KONG BUZZ

A government spokesman announced today (15/6) that the Department of Civil Engineering and Development and the Department of Highways have substantially completed debris clearance work and emergency hazard mitigation measures on the section of Pak Tam Road, Sai Kung with a landslide, following which slope stabilization works would begin immediately.

The spokesperson said that in view of the improved slope condition, at the end of the engineering assessment, the southbound lane of Pak Tam Road, which had only been opened in previously restricted conditions, was reopened at 6 p.m. this afternoon. The one-lane, two-way traffic regime is maintained and the passage of double-decker buses on the section of road concerned is still prohibited.

As the above-mentioned embankment stabilization works have not yet been completed, the spokesperson reminds the public to avoid using the affected section of road in unstable weather conditions, such as when storm warning signs are in effect.
