  • The Group Finance Manager is responsible for managing the Group’s financial records.
  • He is responsible for monitoring cash flow and financial planning as well as analyzing the company’s financial strengths and weaknesses and proposing corrective actions.

Specific roles and functions
The specific roles and functions of this position are:

  • Preparation of individual and consolidated financial statements of the group of companies.
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts for the three (3) subsidiaries
  • Monitor monthly filing of VAT, PAYE, pension and other statutory filings
  • Preparation and monitoring of monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual budgets.
  • Preparation of internal management accounts to show the differences between the actual and the budget.
  • Oversee monthly bank reconciliation statements
  • Signs and presents operating expenses such as trailer fees, loading, customs clearance, travel allowance, etc. to the Group Chief Executive for approval and authorization
  • Oversee transaction posting in Sage
  • Signs and presents staff salaries to Group Managing Director for approval and clearance
  • Oversee the reconciliation of sales and purchases of AGO, PMS and DPK.
  • Oversee the reconciliation of customs clearance, billing and refueling of service customers
  • Oversee and actively participate in all Bureau de Change transaction processing
  • Monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual presentations of financial activities to the GMD
  • Supervise and monitor all lead sheets going into the financial statements

Other responsibilities:

  • Meeting with external consultants on issues relating to tax, audit and other financial advice
  • Monitor and perform trailer benefit and cost analysis
  • Oversee and track sales analysis on a monthly basis
  • Develop secure procedures to maintain confidentiality of information
  • Ensure that all accounting activities and internal audits comply with financial regulations
  • Monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual presentations of financial activities to the GMD
  • Supervise and monitor all lead sheets going into the financial statements
  • Meeting with external consultants on issues relating to tax, audit and other financial advice
  • Perform trailer benefit and cost analysis
  • Oversee and track sales analysis on a monthly basis
  • Develop secure procedures to maintain confidentiality of information
  • Ensure that all accounting activities and internal audits comply with financial regulations
  • Understand and monitor daily AGO, PMS and DPK prices

Requirements / Experience

  • HND / Bachelor / MBA
  • 8 to 10 years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English
  • Excellent people management skills and good team spirit
  • Good planning and stress management skills
  • Ability to work independently and complete tasks efficiently
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office skills (Microsoft Office Word, Excel Powerpoint, Outlook, Sage)
  • Professional qualification (ICAN)
  • Must be a Chartered Accountant.
  • Downstream oil and gas experience is an added advantage.
